October 5th was the Worldwide Photowalk. After arriving late, and missing the start of the walk, I met a fellow photowalker, Forrest. We made our way to the Lodo skateboard park. We found a great location where the skateboarder’s were catching plenty of air right in front of us.<\/p>\n

In between images, we were chatting about photography. Forrest had moved from Oregon to Denver the previous week. The sun was setting as we were photographing. One skateboard rider had caught some air, and jumped to our right, leaving his skateboard in the setting sun (below).<\/p>\n

I was lucky to capture the image below with my Fuji X-E1. I pre-focussed on the lip of the bowl below the skater. Then I waited until he reached the peak of his movement with his arms stretched out like a bird.<\/p>\n

Shortly after, the remainder of the photowalkers arrived at the skateboard part. I headed over the find our leader Lincoln Phillips to become acquainted. During our conversation, skaters were busy in the bowl behind us. I stopped to make this image of Geoff climbing the lip of the bowl.<\/p>\n

Leaving the skateboard park with the photowalkers, Forrest and I passed this alley adjacent to this condemned building.<\/p>\n

During meetup groups over the last year or so, we had done night photography in the Highlands Bridge area. I took the opportunity to make another image of National Treasure next to the bridge.<\/p>\n

For the final image, I set up the camera on the tripod and waited for some bridge walkers to approach. At the opportune moment I released the shutter for a multi-second exposure to capture their ghosts.<\/p>\n

We made our way to the Colorado Photographic Arts Center gallery. They had just finished the opening of an exhibition earlier that evening. The Director, Rupert, gave a brief overview of the center for us. That completed the last event on the Photowalk.<\/p>\n
