Wednesday night a snow storm moved in… Just in time for a White Christmas. At the parking garage, traffic was moving slowly along I-25.

The next morning, the train pulled in to the station…

Walking down to work, I passed these red umbrellas at Tokyo Joe’s.

Returning from work that evening, the street lights lit up the snow in the parking lot.

Last night I purchased some bell peppers for salad ingredients. Usually, I try to find some peppers with interesting shapes so that I can attempt to do make an image like Edward Weston’s “Pepper Number 30”. After some breakfast inspiration:
Time for some more iPhone fun…
Exploring some more, I noticed this interesting arrangement on the table:

Enjoy!

Yesterday I updated the image galleries on this website with new images. Here is a sample of some of the new images. Last year I visited White Pocket, where I made the following image at sunset.

White Pocket Sunset
A summer storm passed through the metro area this year. Here is an infra red image of the storm.

Summer Storm Over The Front Range
While photographing the fall colors at the aspen forests near Beckwith Mountain, an afternoon storm passed through.

Fall Storm Over West Beckwith Pass
Sunbeams lit up the aspen trees and the rain showers. The forest became alive under an atmospheric light show.

We have several glass crystals hanging in the windows. When the sun shines through these crystals, we get many spectral patterns cast on the walls.

Our cat Jasper was so happy to go outside this Thanksgiving morning. After coming back inside I captured this image of bliss!
Later, in the evening, I made this image of Punkin.

Stayed the night in St George. Could not help visiting Zion again.
Here is another rendition of The Watchman, similar to one I made with my big camera a couple of years ago.

Our workshop came to an end last night. The Bodie mining town is located close to Lee Vining. With California state budget cuts, this state park may be closed. I took this opportunity to visit this historic mining town.

Another view of mine workings…

The old schoolhouse is still standing.

Many artifacts still remain inside.

The hotel also has some interesting artifacts. I don’t know about playing on that pool table… the building tilts down to the right!

This afternoon we arrived at Mono Lake to capture the sunset on the final evening of our workshop. We were welcomed with this beautiful soft afternoon light.

After the sun set over the mountains, the twilight colors reflected off the clouds to light up the tufas.
