This week, we had one of our coldest days of the year. Ok, the year was only 7 days old! I commute to work on the light rail system. By the parking garage at DU, several bicycles are parked overnight, or perhaps, earlier in the morning. It had snowed during the night leaving the bicycles covered with a layer of snow.
The bike would have been chilly to ride.
Just by the Arapahoe/Village Center station are these fountains. They have been in operation for a just a few weeks. During the winter, the pressure was reduced, probably to reduce the spray and ice formation. There have been a few days when the fountains were totally iced up.
This morning, the water jets picked up the color of the rising sun.
Later in the day, on the return trip, I noticed the patterns cast by the colored panels of the benches. I don’t often see these patterns. I made this image seconds before the train pulled into the station.
